Lead-Deadwood Urban Art Project Kicks Off
Friday, August 21, 2015
Using $550 in grant funds won at a Souper Starz grant competition earlier this year, the Boys and Girls Club of Lead-Deadwood kicked off the city-wide urban art project with a brightly colored six-panel retaining wall mural in the Handley Center parking lot. It features content that depicts what they like to do — garden, bike, dance, swim, ski, and read.
The mural is the first in what locals have envisioned as a series of urban art projects designed to spruce up areas around town.
